Cornus controversa 'Variagata' is a wonderful specimen tree for the garden. As it ages its branches form a layered effect which is why its common name is the Wedding Cake tree. It has white flowers in early summer and green and white foliage. It makes a wonderful Wedding present and if planted in the garden of the new couple it will forever remind them of their Wedding Day. It is suitable for all gardens as it is a small tree suitable for most garden soils.
